OUR STORY
How it All Started
Shift Alt Her was born from Alora James’s lived experience as a Black woman in tech. After graduating from Tuskegee with a degree in computer engineering and building a career at NASA, Microsoft, Google, and Lyft, she found herself constantly pushed toward leadership and speaking roles. Recognizing this as her divine assignment, she transformed her natural problem-solving ability and her passion for elevating others into a movement. Shift Alt Her exists to empower women in tech to not just enter the industry, but to own the room, rewrite the narrative, and redefine success—while embracing culture, elegance, and the fullness of womanhood.
